With tensions running high and emotions spiraling out of control, Annabelle finds herself torn between her love for Jason, and her new desire for Kingsley.
The longer Annabelle tries to hold on to both men, the more she gets tangled up in a web of lies, secrets, and chilling revelations.
Now, things have gotten worse and Annabelle must do something—before things get ugly…

EXCERPT

I walked down the stairs and towards Kingsley. He was wearing a blue button-down shirt with a thick black jacket over it and dark jeans. His hair was brushed down and spiked slightly in the front and his eyes were shining. He must have been excited because he was practically bouncing up and down. I fed off his enthusiasm and walked quickly toward him.
When I opened the door, Kingsley walked up to me and gave me a light kiss on the cheek. “You look even more beautiful than the last time I saw you.”
“Thanks.” I took the flowers he offered to me and realized I had no idea what to do with them. Did I take them with me? I didn’t have a vase or anything to put them in. I was going to kill the first set of flowers a boy had ever given me. As my mind started to swim, Kingsley held up his backpack.
“I thought you might need this.”
I reached out to take his bag and he quickly pulled it away.
“Uh, sorry. I don’t like people touching my bag. Just hold on a second.” He unzipped the main pocket. Inside was a beautiful glass vase. “I didn’t think you would have brought one of these to your dorm, so I went out and got one.”
“You’re right, I didn’t have one. Let me take these upstairs and put the flowers in some water.”
“Great, I’ll come with you.” He took my hand and opened the door for me. We walked hand in hand to the bathroom to fill the vase with water, and then to my room. Geez, was I grateful that I had nervously cleaned earlier, or this would have been really embarrassing.
“It’s nice that you have a single. You don’t have to worry about a nosey roommate or anything like that.”
“I like that I can set everything up the way I like. For example,” I said, and placed the flowers in the middle of my desk, “I like the flowers there and I don’t need anyone else’s opinion, well, expect yours. Do you think they look good there?”
He laughed lightly and ran his hand down my cheek. “Yes, they look perfect. I’m glad you like them.”
I smiled up at him as my pulse raced. He was standing very close to me and I could feel his breath on me. He was going to kiss me. I held my breath and closed my eyes, willing myself not to panic. His lips brushed mine gently and the butterflies in my stomach settled. It felt right kissing him.
Kingsley pulled away before the kiss could heat up and he smiled at me. “I didn’t want to wait until the night was over to kiss you. To tell you the truth, I’ve wanted to kiss you since I helped you got a hole in one last night. It was such a turn-on knowing I’d helped you do that.”
I forced a smile. This was definitely not the time to remind him that I actually already knew how to play. Instead, I did the one thing I could think of to change the subject. I placed my hand on the back of his neck and pulled him in for another kiss.
His hands snaked around my waist and he pulled me closer to him. He licked my lip a little and begged me to open to him. As soon as I did, I practically melted in his arms. Kingsley took control of the kiss and taught me a thing or two. I fought desperately to keep up with him as the kiss became intense. It wasn’t long before I caught up, realizing how easy it was to kiss him.
Suddenly, Kingsley pulled away but hugged me tightly. “If we continue this, I can promise you that we will miss our reservation, and that green dress looks too good on you to stay in. I want to show you off.”

Virtual Tour ~ WILDFIRE by Ilona Andrews #Excerpt #Giveaway

In the thrilling conclusion to the Hidden Legacy series, Nevada and Rogan
grapple with a power beyond even their imagination…

WILDFIRE
Hidden Legacy #3
Ilona Andrews
Releasing July 25, 2017
Avon Books

From Ilona Andrews, #1 New York Times bestselling author, the thrilling conclusion to her Hidden Legacy series, as Nevada and Rogan grapple with a power beyond even their imagination…

Nevada Baylor can’t decide which is more frustrating — harnessing her truthseeker abilities or dealing with Connor “Mad” Rogan and their evolving relationship. Yes, the billionaire Prime is helping her navigate the complex magical world in which she’s become a crucial player—and sometimes a pawn—but she also has to deal with his ex-fiancée, whose husband has disappeared, and whose damsel-in-distress act is wearing very, very thin.

Rogan faces his own challenges, too, as Nevada’s magical rank has made her a desirable match for other Primes. Controlling his immense powers is child’s play next to controlling his conflicting emotions. And now he and Nevada are confronted by a new threat within her own family. Can they face this together? Or is their world about to go up in smoke?

I opened my mouth. Nothing came out.
Mom made big eyes at me and nodded toward the table. I dropped my bag on the floor and sat.
“Drink your tea.” Grandma Frida pushed a steaming mug toward Rynda.
Rynda picked up and drank it, but her gaze was fixed on me. Desperation in her eyes turned to near panic. Right.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath from the stomach all the way up, held it, and let it out slowly. One . . . two . . . Calm . . . calm . . .
“Nevada?” Grandma Frida asked.
“She’s an empath Prime,” I said. “I’m upset, so it’s affecting her.”
Rynda gave a short laugh, and I heard Olivia Charles in her voice. “Oh, that’s rich.”
Five . . . six . . . Breathe in, breathe out . . . Ten. Good enough.
I opened my eyes and looked at Rynda. I had to keep my voice and my emotions under control. “Your mother killed an entire crew of Rogan’s soldiers and four lawyers, including two women your age. It was an unprovoked slaughter. Their husbands are now widowers and their children are motherless because of her.”
“A person is never just one thing,” Rynda said, putting the mug down. “To you she might have been a monster, but to me she was my mother. She was a wonderful grandmother to my children. She loved them so much. My mother-in- law doesn’t care for them. They have no grandparents now.”
“I’m sorry for your and their loss. I regret that things went the way they did. But it was a justified kill.” Dear God, I sounded like my mother.
“I don’t even know how she died.” Rynda clenched her hands into a single fist. “They only gave me back her bones. How did my mother die, Nevada?”
I took a deep breath. “It wasn’t an easy or a quick death.”
“I deserve to know.” There was steel in her voice. “Tell me.”
“No. You said you needed my help. Something terrible must’ve happened. Let’s talk about that.”
Her hand shook, and the mug danced a little as she brought it to her lips. She took another swallow of her tea. “My husband is missing.”
Okay. Missing husband. Familiar territory. “When was the last time you saw . . .” Rogan had said his name one time, what was it? “. . . Brian?”
“Three days ago. He went to work on Thursday and didn’t come back. He doesn’t answer his phone. Brian likes his routine. He’s always home by dinner. It’s almost Christmas. He wouldn’t miss it.” A note of hysteria crept into her voice. “I know what you’ll ask: does he have a mistress, did we have a good marriage, does he disappear on drunken binges? No. No, he doesn’t. He takes care of me and the kids. He comes home!”
She must’ve spoken to the Houston PD. “Did you fill out a missing person report?”
“Yes. They’re not going to look for him.” Her voice turned bitter. She was getting more agitated by the minute. “He’s a Prime. It’s House business. Except House Sherwood is convinced that Brian is okay and
he’s just taking a break. Nobody is looking for him, except me. Nobody is returning my calls. Even Rogan refuses to see me.”
That didn’t sound right. Rogan would never turn her away, even if I pitched a huge fit about it. I’d watched the two of them talking before. He liked her and he cared about her. “What did Rogan say exactly?”
“I came to him on Friday. His people told me he was out. He was out on Saturday. I asked to wait, and they told me it was a waste of time. They didn’t know when he would be back. I may be naive, but I’m not an idiot. I know what that means. Two weeks ago, I had friends. I had my mother’s friends, powerful, respected, and always so eager to do Olivia Charles a favor. Two weeks ago, one phone call and half of the city would be out looking for Brian. They would be putting pressure on the police, on the mayor, on the Texas Rangers. But now, everyone is out. Everyone is too busy to see me. There is an invisible wall around me. No matter how loud I scream, nobody can hear me. People just nod and offer platitudes.”
“He didn’t stonewall you,” I said. “He was out of state. With me.
She stopped. “You’re together?”
There was no point in lying. “Yes.”
“The thing with my mother, it wasn’t just a job for you?”
“No. She killed the wife of a man I consider a friend. He works here now.”
Rynda put her hand over her mouth. Silence fell, heavy and tense.
“I shouldn’t have come here,” she said. “I’ll get the children and go.”
“That’s right,” Grandma Frida said.
“No,” Mom said. I knew that voice. That was Sergeant Mom voice. Rynda knew that voice too, because she sat up straighter. Olivia Charles was never in the military, but three minutes of talking to her had told me that she had ruled her household with an iron fist and had very low tolerance for nonsense.
“You’re here now,” Mom said. “You came to us for help, because you had nowhere to turn and because you’re scared for your husband and your children. You came to the right place. Nevada is very good at tracking missing people. Either she’ll help you, or she will recommend someone who will.”
Grandma Frida turned and looked at Mom as if she had sprouted a pineapple on her head.
“Right,” I said. I may not have personally murdered Rynda’s mother, but I made that death possible. And now she was a pariah, alone and scared. She had lost her mother, her husband, and all of the people she thought were her friends. I had to help her. I had to at least get her started in the right direction.

“Ilona Andrews" is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.) They have co-authored two New York Times and USA Today bestselling series—the urban fantasy of Kate Daniels and the romantic urban fantasy of The Edge—and are working on the next volumes for both. They live in Texas with their two children and many dogs and cats.

About the 1001 Dark Nights: Bundle Ten Authors-

Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention. She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Release Day Blitz ~ Brandon (Dark Grove Plantation) by Julia Sykes

AP new - synopsis.jpg

For months, I’ve been drawn to BDSM club Dark Grove Plantation again and again, unable to resist the allure of one particular raven-haired beauty. The only problem? Ella is a Dominatrix, and she’s made it clear with her barbed tongue that she has zero interest in submitting to me. But my instincts tell me that lies are dripping from those perfect, red-painted lips. I crave to bind her beneath me, to torment her body with dark pleasure until she screams out my name and calls me Master. There’s a sweet submissive hidden somewhere under Ella’s haughty exterior, and I intend to earn her surrender. The infamous Dominatrix of Dark Grove Plantation will be mine.

“Hello there, sugar.”
I tensed at the sound of his familiar, impossibly deep voice. I’d come to dread its sexy Southern twang. Conversations with Brandon never went well.
I took a breath and slowly turned to face him where he’d come to loom behind me. Although I arched an imperious brow at him, my efforts were somewhat ruined by the fact that I had to stare up at him. I might be six feet tall with the added height of my stiletto heels, but he still had several inches on me. And when he was standing this close, it was impossible to meet his eye without tilting my head back. It made me feel small, exposed. Vulnerable.
I shifted back slightly, only to bump against the bar behind me. An irritatingly sexy smirk tugged at his lips. I forced my gaze to remain trained on his rich brown stare rather than allowing my eyes to drop to the mocking curve of his mouth. Remarkably thick, dark lashes framed those eyes. The effect might have seemed feminine on another man, but Brandon’s strong, square jaw was overtly masculine. And the way he was watching me was all alpha male. His eyes narrowed slightly, the molten chocolate irises darkening as his pupils dilated: a predator fixing his sights on his prey.
I lifted my chin and met his challenge, my eyes clashing with his.
“I’ve told you not to call me sugar,” I said coldly. We’d had this argument before. It seemed to be one of Brandon’s favorite conversations. The man loved goading me.
His smirk widened to a dazzling smile, as though my irritation pleased him immensely.
“What should I call you, then?” he asked, his voice lilting with amusement.
“Mistress would suit you nicely,” I quipped.
“I’d prefer to call you mine,” he countered in a rumbling tone that caressed my skin. I suppressed a shiver.
I shrugged it off. “Keep dreaming.”
He cocked his head at me, and the crimson club lights glinted a bronze halo off the copper strands in his dark hair, making him resemble a dark angel for a few befuddling seconds.
“I do dream about you, Ella. Do you want to know what I dream?” The wicked gleam in his eye made my mouth water, and I took too long to refuse him. He leaned in closer, so the heat of his bare skin pulsed against mine. He wore only his faded jeans. They were slung low on his hips, leaving his powerful body on display.
Unable to help myself, I glanced down at his sculpted chest, my eyes greedily roving the contours of his perfection. My gaze followed the sexy V at his hips, down the trail of dark hair that disappeared into his jeans. A small, involuntary gasp left my lips when I saw his cock straining against the denim fabric.
His head dipped toward mine, until I could feel the heat of his breath fanning my neck. He didn’t touch me, but I could feel him against every inch of my skin.
“I dream about you, bound beneath me,” he whispered, low and rough. “Screaming out my name while I taste and torment your sweet little pussy.”
“Keep dreaming,” I managed again, but my breathy tone ruined the retort. “I don’t want to be tied to anyone’s bed. I’m the Domme. I have to deal with men trying to Top me every day in the courtroom. I’m not about to let you do it in the playroom. I don’t enjoy losing. Ever.”
Brandon drew back slightly so I found myself captured in his curious gaze. “You think submitting means losing?” he asked.
“I… No. Of course not.” I fumbled. I didn’t think of my submissive partners as losers. I respected them and cherished the trust they placed in me when they chose to give me control.
“But you think you’d be losing if you submitted to me,” he surmised. It wasn’t a question.
I shook off my confusion. “I don’t need to worry about losing, because I’m not playing with you.”
“Playing? Is that what BDSM is for you? A game?”
I shrugged. “It’s a common term for sharing a kinky scene, and you know it. You’ve been coming to Dark Grove for three months now. Don’t act naïve.”
“I’ve been in the lifestyle for much longer than a few months,” he allowed. “So no, I’m not naïve. I think you might be, though.”
“What?” I gasped, affronted. “I’ve been a Dominatrix for years.”
“I’m not saying you’re not a skilled Top,” he said calmly. “I’m saying you’re willfully deceiving yourself if you truly think there’s nothing between us.”
“There isn’t,” I said, as flatly as I could manage. “I’m not interested in you, Brandon.”
He reached out and touched my cheek with proprietary familiarity that shocked me to my core. His fingertips explored the line of my jaw, his thumb traced over my parted lips.
“Then why do your eyes darken when I’m close?” he asked, pinning me in place with his intense brown stare. His fingers trailed lower, caressing the vulnerable artery at my throat. “Why does your pulse race?” He inhaled deeply, breathing me in. “I can practically smell how wet you are. I bet your panties are soaked right now, and I haven’t even kissed you yet.”
“I didn’t say you could kiss me,” I whispered.
“I didn’t ask for your permission, Mistress.”
